There is a different way.
Wholistic psychiatry doesn’t just put a bandaid on your symptoms.
It explores what lies beneath them, and supports you towards deep and long-lasting change. Our work will be fueled by:
Compassion - If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood or dismissed, I’m here to listen deeply to your experience, because that’s where our answers lie.
Honesty - You can trust that I will always tell you the truth, even when it’s difficult to hear, even when I don’t know.
Hope - I’ll help you see light and strength in unexpected ways. I’ll offer perspectives you haven’t considered.
Wholistic Support - Combining 2 decades of psychiatric experience with training in mind-body practices, I’ll be taking a whole-person approach to your recovery.

FAQs
-
My practice is entirely virtual allowing for convenience, lack of travel, and availability of treatment to those who live throughout Massachusetts.
Research has shown there is essentially no difference in outcomes comparing virtual to in-person psychiatry visits.
-
My practice is not traditional talk therapy, although psychotherapetic insights frequently come out of our conversations. I am in support of therapy, however, psychotherapy is not for everyone. One might need support and treatment during a particularly difficult period or transition in their life, and time-limited or monthly visits may work well.
-
Sometimes it is useful to speak to loved ones to assist in the process of getting to know you better from people who know you best.
It can also help family members better support you, and address any questions or concerns they might have regarding treatment and diagnosis. This is especially important for college students and young adults who continue to be supported by their family.
-
Most insurances view psychiatrists as doctors who manage medication and do not currently have a model to reimburse psychiatrists for other valuable services they wee trained for and are able to provide. My work with you will include ample time for assessment and ongoing treatment.
For those who have out-of-network coverage I am able to provide a ‘superbill’ which provides the necessary information an insurance needs for reimbursement. Please check details with your insurance carrier.
Along with major credit cards I usually can accept HSA and FSA cards.

My goal is to consider the whole person and not just symptoms whether or not I prescribe medication. Therefore, the initial consultation and treatment plan phase remain the same and the ongoing support would then be monthly visits though sometimes less frequent visits are indicated.
